Steve Lightle (November 19, 1959 – January 8, 2021) was an American comic book artist best known for his dynamic penciling on DC Comics' *Legion of Super-Heroes* and *Doom Patrol*. Born in Kansas, he entered the industry in the mid-1980s, quickly establishing a clean, expressive style that balanced intricate detail with clear storytelling. His work on *Legion of Super-Heroes* helped define the team's look during a celebrated run, and he later brought his energetic linework to Marvel's *Quasar* and the anthology *Marvel Comics Presents*. Lightle also contributed to *Tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes* and the French-language *Les Vengeurs*. Over a career spanning from 1984 into the 2020s, he was credited on 79 issues as artist, colorist, inker, and writer. His collaborations with writers like Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen produced some of the era's most memorable cosmic and superhero adventures.
