The issue was edited by Jim Salicrup, with Tom DeFalco serving as editor-in-chief, and was released on-sale in 1990 with an August 1990 cover date. The lead 'Spidey's Totally Tiny Adventure' crossover originated in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #24, where Gerry Conway — then in the middle of his acclaimed return run on Spectacular Spider-Man — scripted Spider-Man's shrinking misadventure alongside Ant-Man (Scott Lang); this annual concludes that two-part storyline. McFarlane's backup contribution came at the tail end of his celebrated Amazing Spider-Man run, making it a transitional piece drawn just as he was preparing to take creative control of the new solo Spider-Man series in 1990.
