Flash stands center-stage in his scarlet suit, arm-in-arm with a green-skinned woman clutching a spear, as a crowd of wild-eyed, weapon-brandishing figures surges around them — a striking tableau that earns this issue's "Savage Speedster" banner. Steve Lightle's cover art has a wonderful pulp-adventure energy, framing Wally West as an unlikely champion amid the chaos, with what appears to be a defeated purple-caped figure crumpled at their feet. Mike Baron, Mike Collins, and Larry Mahlstedt bring the story "Chunk in the Void" to life in this March 1988 chapter of DC's relaunched Flash series.
