Guardians of the Galaxy #8

Set in the Marvel Universe of the 31st century, this January 1991 issue of Guardians of the Galaxy puts two teammates on a violent collision course. The cover by Jim Valentino and Steve Lightle says it all: a wild-eyed, blue-skinned Yondu leaps down with savage fury, hands locked around the throat of a startled Starhawk, as the cover bluntly announces "Yondu Goes Mad!!!" Something has clearly pushed the normally spiritual Guardian well past his breaking point. It's a striking, kinetic image that makes "Down Time" sound anything but restful.
