Against a blood-red sky, a furious Legionnaire in a black-and-gold costume drives his fist forward as a massive wave of snarling alien warriors — Khunds and other fearsome creatures, including a hulking fanged beast in the foreground — threatens to overwhelm everything in its path. The sheer density of combatants on this Steve Lightle and Larry Mahlstedt cover gives it a sense of barely-contained chaos that perfectly suits the story's title. Paul Levitz's 1985 run on the Legion was firing on all cylinders, and this issue looks like a prime example of the team facing the kind of overwhelming alien odds that made this era so compelling.
