Todd DeZago is an American comic book writer born in 1961, best recognized for his long creative partnership with artist Mike Wieringo. Together the two produced some of the most fondly remembered Spider-Man work of the 1990s, particularly on *The Sensational Spider-Man*, while also collaborating on *The Spectacular Spider-Man*. DeZago's work tends toward character-driven storytelling with an accessible, energetic tone that made him a natural fit for younger-skewing titles like *Marvel Age Spider-Man* and DC's *Impulse*, the latter featuring the irrepressible Bart Allen and becoming one of his most-credited ongoing series.

His path into comics solidified through the mid-1990s, with catalog credits stretching from 1994 to 2021 across more than 250 issues. Beyond his mainstream superhero work, DeZago and Wieringo channeled their shared sensibilities into *Tellos*, a creator-owned fantasy adventure that showcased a warmer, more whimsical side of both creators and developed a devoted readership. The series stands as perhaps the most personal achievement of their collaboration. Wieringo's death in 2007 was a significant loss to DeZago professionally and personally, though *Tellos* endures as a testament to what the two built together. DeZago remains a respected figure among readers who came of age with his work in the 1990s and early 2000s.
