“Mercury Falling: The Conclusion! Deathrace”

The "Mercury Falling" arc reaches its shattering conclusion here in Impulse #66, and the cover by Ethan Van Sciver and Wayne Faucher captures the tension perfectly — Impulse in his green-and-gold costume locks up in a fierce struggle with a red-suited young woman, while a masked figure in white recoils in the background against a web of cracks. Van Sciver's kinetic linework gives the whole scene a sense of barely contained chaos, fitting for a speedster's world on the edge. Todd DeZago, Van Sciver, and Barbara Kaalberg bring this November 2000 chapter home in what promises to be a genuinely gripping finish to the storyline.
