About this Collection

This collection kicks off the fantasy-adventure series Tellos, following a young boy named Jarek and his tiger companion, Koj, as they navigate a world of magic, pirates, and ancient secrets. Written by Todd Dezago with vibrant artwork by Mike Wieringo, this volume introduces the reluctant heroes and sets the stage for their epic quest across the land of Tellos.

In Tellos #1, a young rabbit journeys to a mysterious mage seeking answers about the fate of Tellos, only to reveal a hidden allegiance to the villain Malesur. As he’s captured and imprisoned in a box by two ogres, his true nature begins to shift—transforming into a silent, reptilian creature that escapes the moment they arrive. Written by Todd DeZago and brought to life with dynamic art by Mike Wieringo, this first issue sets a mysterious, high-stakes tone with a twist that lingers long after the final page. The cover, by Mike Wieringo and Nathan Massengill, captures the moment of transformation with striking intensity.

A young rabbit seeks out a mage for answers about the future of Tellos. He receives the information and leaves, and it becomes apparent that he was actually a spy for the evil Malesur. He is locked in a box by two ogres while they take him back to Malesur to tell what he learned, but when they arrive they find that the young rabbit has turned into a lizard that cannot speak, and that immediately flees.
