In "On the Job," a 2.99 USD Marvel Adventures Super Heroes comic from 2009, Henry Pym and Flint Marko find themselves out of work and applying for a manual position at Van Dyne Technologies—only to be passed over for Irving Forbush, a nerdy high school grad. When Pym gets a ride home from the company’s wealthy owner, Janet Van Dyne, desperation drives him to use his inventions, while Flint Marko, as Sandman, turns to crime. Pym, as Ant-Man, steps in to stop the robbery, aided by his ants—only to find two of them utterly distracted by his candy bars. Written by Todd DeZago and illustrated by Derec Donovan with inks by Scott Koblish and Vicente Cifuentes, the story features a cover by Clayton Henry.

Henry Pym and Flint Marko are broke. They apply for a manual job at Van Dyne Technologies, but are unsuccessful. Nerdish high school graduate Irving Forbush is judged to be the most suitable candidate and gets the job. Henry meets the company's wealthy owner, Janet Van Dyne, and gets a lift home. In need of cash, Henry Pym turns to his inventions. Flint Marko, as Sandman, turns to crime. Pym, as Ant-Man, battles and defeats Sandman as he attempts to rob Van Dyne Technologies. The ants help. Two of the ants discover Henry Pym's candy bars and gorge themselves silly!
