DC's holiday chaos gets a serious upgrade in Impulse #57 with "A Plastic Christmas," pairing Bart Allen with the rubbery Plastic Man and the mischievous fifth-dimensional imp Mr. Mxyzptlk. The cover by Ethan Van Sciver and Wayne Faucher captures the trio tumbling around a fully decorated Christmas tree — Impulse exclaiming "Sweet Christmas!" mid-spin, Plastic Man stretching his way through the branches candy cane in hand, and a gleefully smirking Mxyzptlk clutching a gift tagged "For Santa." The tagline says it all: "…not exactly the Three Wise Men…" — and this February 2000 issue looks like exactly the kind of delightfully unhinged holiday story that makes Impulse such a joy.
