Jay Faerber
Jay Faerber was born in 1972 and has built a career as both a comic book and television writer. He broke into comics in the late 1990s, contributing to Marvel's Generation X and New Warriors before moving over to DC, where he wrote The Titans and Connor: Spotlight.
His most enduring contributions came through creator-owned work at Image Comics. Noble Causes, a long-running family superhero drama, established him as a writer with a strong feel for character dynamics and serialized storytelling. He followed it with Dynamo 5, another superhero ensemble title, and later branched into genre-blending territory with Near Death and the western sci-fi series Copperhead. His catalog with the company spans well over 200 issues across nearly two and a half decades, reflecting a steady, prolific output rather than a single breakout moment.
Faerber also pursued a parallel career in television, writing for Ringer, Star-Crossed, Zoo, and the long-running superhero series Supergirl. The crossover between his comics sensibility and TV work — both favor strong ensemble casts and serialized plots — is evident across both bodies of work. While no major industry awards are on record here, his creator-owned titles earned him a loyal readership and a respected place among writers who built their own franchises outside the mainstream publisher system.
