Copperhead #6

A red-haired woman sits alone at a crowded bar, cradling a drink while a tense mix of humans and alien creatures press in around her — the quiet unease on her face speaking volumes about life on the frontier. Scott Godlewski's cover composition does a fine job conveying the atmosphere of Jay Faerber's sci-fi western: this is a town where humans and strange beings share the same watering holes, whether they like it or not. Issue six of Copperhead looks like a turning point, and that bar scene promises the kind of slow-burn tension this series does so well.
