Copperhead #2

The cover of Copperhead #2 splits into two charged panels: above, a hulking, fanged alien figure in a dark cloak draws a bead with a massive scoped rifle against a sickly green backdrop; below, a pale human figure lies prone on a field of red — the contrast is stark and unsettling. Scott Godlewski's linework gives the alien sniper an imposing, almost mythic weight, while Ron Riley's cool-versus-warm color divide makes the composition immediately arresting. This 2014 Image series is shaping up as a sci-fi Western with real teeth, and issue two looks to be pushing the tension even further.
