Elsewhere #2

The second chapter of Image's Elsewhere arrives with a cover that grabs you immediately — a young woman in a leather jacket and tall laced boots leaps dynamically through a starlit sky, arms raised and hair streaming behind her, with imposing stone fortress towers looming on either side and a massive cannon barrel jutting into frame. Sumeyye Kesgin's linework gives the scene real kinetic energy, and Ron Riley's moody purple-blue palette lends the whole image a dreamlike, otherworldly atmosphere that suits the title perfectly. If this cover is any indication, Jay Faerber's series is shaping up to be one of 2017's more visually inventive adventures.
