Elsewhere #8 brings this Image series to a tense visual moment, with two figures — a man in the foreground shielding himself and a determined young woman behind him — caught mid-motion against a swirling, luminous green vortex of light and energy. The cover by Sumeyye Kesgin has a striking urgency to it, the characters' body language suggesting flight or confrontation with something just beyond that blinding threshold. With Jay Faerber writing and Ron Riley's moody color palette bathing the scene in eerie greens and purples, this 2018 issue looks like a compelling entry in the series.
