This ninth issue of Image's sci-fi western delivers a cover that puts the action front and center: a fierce woman on horseback — well, riding some kind of alien beast — charges straight toward the viewer, pistol raised and expression fierce, as a mixed group of human and alien riders surges alongside her across a dusty, twin-mooned frontier landscape. Scott Godlewski's linework and Ron Riley's muted, sun-baked palette give the whole stampede a gritty energy that captures Copperhead's signature blend of space-age setting and old-west attitude. Jay Faerber's series continues to prove that the frontier spirit translates beautifully to the far reaches of the galaxy.
