This June 2002 issue of The Titans makes an immediate impression with Barry Kitson's striking cover — a wide-eyed young woman with curly hair submerged underwater, bubbles swirling around her alarmed face as armored green gauntlets close in from below. The single-word cover tag "Submerged!" says plenty on its own, setting a tense, urgent mood before you've even opened the book. Writer Jay Faerber and the Kitson-led art team were clearly in fine form for this penultimate chapter of the series' run.
