Donald Ragnvald Christensen, born July 6, 1916, was an American cartoonist, animator, illustrator, writer, and inventor whose career in comics stretched across several decades. He died on October 18, 2006.
Christensen built a substantial body of work in licensed funny-animal and animated-character comics, contributing as artist, inker, letterer, and writer across more than 340 issues between the mid-1940s and the early 2000s. His output was closely tied to the Warner Bros. animated universe — titles like *Porky Pig* and *Bugs Bunny* represent his most frequently credited work — as well as the broad-reaching anthology series *Four Color* and the promotional *Boys' and Girls' March of Comics* line. He also worked on Hanna-Barbera properties, including the *Harlem Globetrotters* comic, and his work reached international audiences through the German publication *Schweinchen Dick*. He occasionally worked under the byline "Don Arr."
While Christensen operated largely within the world of licensed characters rather than as a co-creator of original properties, his consistency and craft made him a reliable presence in the digest and newsstand comic market for generations of young readers. His breadth of skills — spanning writing, drawing, inking, and lettering — allowed him to contribute at nearly every stage of production, a versatility that defined his long, quietly prolific career.
