“Trouble in the Big Trees”

In "Trouble in the Big Trees," Porky Pig and his mischievous friend Cicero are unexpectedly called upon to save the day when a photo misleads the government into thinking Porky is a master tree surgeon. Sent to Big Tree National Park to diagnose the ailing "General Smedley," the world’s oldest redwood, they discover the real culprit behind the damage: a persistent woodpecker causing trouble in the ancient canopy. Written by Don R. Christensen and illustrated by Fred Abranz, with a cover by Ralph Heimdahl, this 1952 Four Color adventure blends humor and nature in a charming, offbeat tale.
