“Porky Pig and the Witch of Owl Mountain”

In the North Woods, Porky Pig’s insecurities about his size make him an easy target for the lumberjacks’ pranks—especially when he tries to impress Petunia by “winning” a rigged fight. His bravado lands him in trouble when he’s sent up Owl Mountain to blow up a hollow full of hoot owls, only to be captured by Hoot Howl Hattie, the witch sworn to protect them. Written by Don R. Christensen and illustrated by Fred Abranz, this 1954 Dell classic features a delightfully absurd adventure with a whimsical twist, all brought to life in Tony Strobl’s iconic cover art.

In the North Woods, Porky feels inadequate among all the tall lumberjacks. After Porky "protects" Petunia in a fixed fight, the lumberjacks take advantage of his swagger to send him up the mountain to blow up a hollow with hundreds of hoot owls. Unfortunately Porky gets captured by Hoot Howl Hattie, the witch that protects the owls.
