Retired pirate Sam hauls a cargo of “Atomic Brand Cat Food” in order to make ends meet, with Bugs aboard ship to assist with the unloading. To remedy a case of shipboard boredom, Bugs finds a trunk containing flags from Sam’s old pirate days, and runs them up the flagpole as a lark. The flags include “the Jolly Roger”, prompting a response from the yacht of the Maharajah of Richypan. Spying a crate of cargo labeled “Atomic”, the Maharajah and his crew assume it to mean a weapon, surrender the Maharajah's jewels to Sam, and take off – only to run into a pair of actual seagoing jewel thieves.
