Brian Posehn
Brian Posehn was born on July 6, 1966, in the United States. Best known as a stand-up comedian and actor—with notable roles on *Mr. Show with Bob and David*, *The Sarah Silverman Program*, and *The Big Bang Theory*—he also carved out a parallel path in comics. Posehn broke into the medium in 2006, and over the next two decades he wrote 24 issues, most frequently for Marvel’s *Deadpool*. His signature work on the character includes the miniseries *Deadpool: Dracula’s Gauntlet* and *Deadpool: The Gauntlet*, often in collaboration with artist Kevin Mellon. He also co-wrote the holiday-themed *The Last Christmas* and the autobiographical series *Grommets*, and contributed to *Mad* magazine. Posehn’s writing is marked by the same offbeat, pop-culture-savvy humor that defines his stand-up. His television writing earned him two Primetime Emmy nominations (1998 and 1999) for *Mr. Show*, and a DVDX Award nomination for Best Original Song for *Run Ronnie Run!*. Beyond comics, he has hosted the *Dungeons & Dragons* podcast *Nerd Poker* since 2012 and voiced characters in video games like *Halo 2* and *Brütal Legend*. Posehn remains active in both comedy and comics, with his most recent comic work appearing in 2024.
