Deadpool (Vol. 4) #19 is the concluding chapter of 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' arc, widely regarded as one of the darkest and most emotionally grounded stories in Deadpool's publishing history — a sharp tonal departure from the character's comedy-first reputation that demonstrated the full dramatic range of the Duggan/Posehn run. The issue was written by the co-writing team of Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn, with interior art and cover by Declan Shalvey, whose painterly, high-contrast linework defined the visual identity of the 'Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' arc. The series launched under Marvel NOW! in late 2012, with Duggan and Posehn deliberately pursuing a longer emotional arc beneath the book's comedic exterior, and #15–19 represented their most overtly dramatic swing to that point. The cover was colored by Jordie Bellaire, whose collaboration with Shalvey on this run helped establish both artists as rising forces in the industry before their celebrated work together on Moon Knight.
