Deadpool #22
Wade Wilson has never looked more absurdly authoritative than he does here, dressed in a red scout-style uniform and drill-sergeant hat, giving a solemn three-fingered salute while flanked by rows upon rows of identical saluting S.H.I.E.L.D. agents — a formation that stretches to the horizon with deadpan military precision. The "Deadpool vs. S.H.I.E.L.D." logo says it all: part two of this showdown between the Merc with a Mouth and the world's most powerful spy organization is underway, written by Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan with art by Mike Hawthorne and colors by Jordie Bellaire. Mark Brooks' cover composition is a genuinely clever visual gag that sets a wonderfully absurd tone for whatever chaos awaits inside.
