Deadpool #38

Tied into Marvel's AXIS event, this December 2015 issue of The Uncanny Deadpool wears its self-awareness right on its sleeve — "Yeah-- We're Messed Up. So What?!?" about sums it up. Mark Brooks's cover assembles a striking lineup of morally complicated figures: a hooded, scarred Deadpool front and center, flanked by a silver-armored Colossus, a woman with scarred skin and white hair, a glowing-skulled figure radiating psychic energy, and a brooding blue-skinned character lurking in the background. Writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn, with interior art by Mike Hawthorne, continue their long run on the Merc with a Mouth here, and if the cover's defiant tagline is any indication, the story inside leans fully into the chaos AXIS has unleashed.
