Deadpool #31
Part of Marvel's 2014 "Original Sin" crossover, this issue pairs Deadpool with a heavily cybernetic woman whose mechanical limbs and components are visibly in disarray — and Wade is crouched at her feet with a welding torch, sparks flying, barking "Hold still!" as he attempts some impromptu repairs. Mark Brooks' cover perfectly captures the series' signature mix of action and absurdist comedy, with a gas cylinder and a pair of katanas leaning nearby for good measure. Writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn, with art by John Lucas and colors by Val Staples, keep the irreverent energy running strong at issue #31.
