A flagship anthology of the Golden Age from Quality Comics, Police Comics ran 127 issues from 1941 to 1953, serving as the launchpad and long-time home for Jack Cole's iconic, zany stretchable hero Plastic Man alongside his sidekick Woozy Winks. The series also showcased a rotating cast of classic crime-fighters, including early adventures of The Spirit (under the name Denny Colt) and the gritty Manhunter, with Reed Crandall's detailed linework lending a pulpy energy to many of its stories.
