With nothing but his wits and the spy ring's own resources against them, 711 must uncover their plan before vital information reaches the enemy abroad.
The crooked lawyer known as the Black Queen successfully springs her client, the gunman Slot Gorgan, from murder charges through legal maneuvering—but the Spirit crashes the celebration and abducts the defendant, judge, and district attorney to force a confession. When Slot's rage gets the better of him and he tries to flee, the Spirit catches him and delivers an ultimatum that sends the killer scrambling to deliver a donation to the city's underfunded schools—though the Spirit isn't quite finished with his plan for justice.
In "The Tank Factory Sabotage," Sandra and her father visit the testing grounds only to witness U.S. tanks disintegrating mid-demo—prompting Sandra to infiltrate the factory as a worker to uncover the sabotage. With her father’s concerns and the nation’s war effort on the line, she must navigate the factory’s secrets before the truth is lost in the wreckage.
