☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis anthology issue features multiple crime-fighting stories. The Plastic Man story follows detective Woozy as he trails criminal Markos to his apartment, where Plastic Man defeats the villain and promises to finish him off in the city dump. The Olga Bustle story, drawn by Will Eisner, depicts the character as a woman scheduled for release after 20 years of preparation, becoming involved in an "Outcast" adventure. A third feature shows a caped superhero (possibly The Spirit or similar character) engaging with police lieutenant Nick at a diner, where they discover a woman named Heister has broken into a location, leading to discussion of apprehending her before she escapes.
Plastic Man finds himself framed for murder when a jewelry store manager dies during a confrontation with criminals at the West End Jewelry Exchange—a setup orchestrated by the crime boss Markos to finally eliminate his most persistent nemesis. As Plastic Man faces execution in the gas chamber, his loyal friend Woozy Winks must uncover the conspiracy before midnight, while the shape-shifter languishes in his cell convinced that his own lawyer, Planker, is somehow part of the plot against him. This 1949 Police Comics adventure pits the hero's unshakeable conviction in his innocence against a system that seems determined to send him to his doom.
