“Get Flatfoot Burns!”

The cover by Jack Cole sets a wonderfully comic tone: Plastic Man — goggles on, mallet in hand — crouches in the pouring rain outside a pup tent while his rotund, hat-wearing companion sits comfortably inside reading a newspaper, completely dry and unbothered. That yellow blurb promising "Plastic Man combats Crime WITHOUT Criminals!" only adds to the charm, hinting at the kind of gleefully absurd storytelling Quality Comics delivered in 1946. A delightful slice of Golden Age wit.
