Radio patrolman Dan Ryan has spent a year watching Big Ed Shansky and his slick lawyer, Asa Morton, exploit the law to escape justice—but when Ryan finally gets his chance to testify against the killer in court, Morton's courtroom tactics systematically dismantle his case and push the honest cop to his breaking point. As Ryan's patience fractures under the pressure of a rigged system, his iron discipline threatens to snap, with consequences that will shake the entire town.
