As water breaches the cave and begins to drown them, Plastic Man uses his stretching abilities to create an escape route, ultimately saving Woozy and himself from the frozen trap. In a secondary story involving a female character in a yellow outfit and blue hat, she becomes entangled in a scheme involving a stolen candelabra, ultimately leading to an auction where the object's ownership is disputed and resolved.
Plastic Man goes undercover as a cowhand on a western ranch plagued by mysterious cattle rustling, stamp thefts, and murders—and he quickly spots a suspicious heavily fenced operation nearby that might hold the key to it all. With help from his partner Woozy Winks and the locals Miguel and Conchita, Plastic Man begins unraveling a criminal scheme that reaches far beyond the open range. His unique talents and sharp detective work will be put to the test as he closes in on the truth behind the Hog Pen Ranch.
When a mysterious explosion kills an astrologer on Astrologer's Rock, The Spirit investigates a case that seems tangled up with superstition—locals blame the return of Mobar's Comet for stirring up a crime wave, but the truth lies closer to home. A railroad company with designs on the rocky property becomes the prime suspect, until The Spirit uncovers a more desperate motive hidden beneath layers of deception and financial desperation. With the comet streaking overhead, The Spirit must separate lunar legend from cold, earthbound crime.
When Patrolman Dan Richards arrives at the Beacon Trust Company to find a blown vault and a dead watchman, he's immediately suspended—but the case doesn't sit right with him, so he transforms into Manhunter to dig deeper. With his dog Thor at his side, Manhunter uncovers a web of suspicious details: an inner vault somehow robbed in impossible time, strange marks on a window sill, and a recently wealthy safecracker throwing money around. What he discovers will expose a cold-blooded scheme far more sinister than a simple robbery.
