Arvid Nelson

Arvid Nelson is an American comic book writer best known for creating the historical mystery series *Rex Mundi*. He was born in the United States and entered the comics field in the mid-2000s, quickly establishing himself as a writer drawn to epic, often pulp-inspired storytelling. Over a career spanning from 2006 to 2021, he has been credited on 93 issues as a writer and letterer. His most prolific work came from Dynamite Entertainment, where he wrote extensively on *Warlord of Mars*, *Lord of the Jungle*, *Queen Sonja*, and *Lords of Mars*, often adapting or expanding the worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard. His signature style blends dense, historical world-building with supernatural or sword-and-sorcery elements, and he frequently collaborated with artists such as Eric J. and Andrew Dalhouse. *Rex Mundi*, his most notable co-creation, is a dark fantasy thriller set in an alternate-history Europe where magic is real and the Holy Grail is a central mystery.
