Rex Mundi #9
This ninth issue of Image's Rex Mundi takes its cues from one of history's most enduring mysteries, with a story titled "The Man in the Iron Mask." The cover, rendered by Eric J and colored by Jeromy Cox, sets a brooding medieval atmosphere: a lone figure stands in a torchlit stone cell, one hand raised with quiet uncertainty, tally marks scratched into the wall behind him and a barred window cutting into the night sky above. It's a moody, grounded image that speaks to the series' blend of historical intrigue and gothic unease — exactly the kind of storytelling that made Rex Mundi one of the more distinctive series in early 2000s independent comics.
