Rudy Nebres

Rodolfo D. Nebres was born on January 14, 1937, in the Philippines, and built a distinguished career as one of the more sought-after Filipino artists working in American comic books during the latter decades of the twentieth century. He is best recognized for his richly detailed, lush inking style, which reached its fullest expression during his most prolific stretch in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s.

Nebres brought that meticulous linework to a wide range of titles across the industry, with particularly strong associations with sword-and-sorcery and science-fiction material. His credits include substantial runs on *The Savage Sword of Conan*, *John Carter*, *John Carter, Warlord of Mars*, and *Doctor Strange*, among others.
