“Atlantis Rising Final Chapter: The Darkling Ingredient”

A menacing villain in a green-and-blue caped costume looms triumphantly over a scene of fallen Crusaders, his speech balloon declaring "I have destroyed the Crusaders!" — while at least two heroes still on their feet look ready to prove him wrong. Rich Buckler's cover work, inked with Rudy Nebres, gives the whole tableau a dynamic, high-stakes energy that fits perfectly with the "Atlantis Rising" finale promised inside. If you were following Red Circle's 1983 superhero revival, this issue makes a compelling case for the team's staying power.

As Eterno's androids take the defeated Crusaders to Atlantis, the Shield, the Web, and the Black Hood regroup to save their fellow Crusaders with some unexpected help: the Comet, now sporting his original outfit and powers, and Darkling, a mysterious woman with the ability to teleport. Together they save their other members, then defeat Eterno. Darkling joins the Crusaders just as the Comet quits for personal reasons.
