That tagline — "In a Disco No One Can Hear You Scream!" — tells you everything you need to know about where Warren Publishing's horror magazine was in January 1980. Steve Harris's cover is a genuinely unsettling piece of airbrush work: a menacing, gold-toothed face looms in extreme close-up, cigarette dangling from its lips, while both lenses of its aviator sunglasses reflect Vampirella herself, fangs bared and ready for a fight. Inside, Bill DuBay scripts "Phantasmagoria of Terror" with art by Jim Janes and Rudy Nebres — a creative team that brings plenty of atmosphere to Warren's flagship horror heroine.
