Earl Norem's painted cover for this March 1993 Marvel magazine says it all — a muscle-bound Conan lunges forward with sword extended, a robed sorcerer looming ominously behind him and a bejeweled woman named Isparana watching from the shadows to the right. The cover copy promises Marvel's adaptation of "Conan and the Sorcerer," with Conan losing his soul to a sorcerer and his heart to Isparana — high-stakes sword-and-sorcery drama rendered with Norem's characteristically vivid, painterly intensity.
