Steve Skroce
1901–
Steve Skroce is a Canadian comic book artist and film storyboard artist, best known for his detailed, dynamic work on Marvel’s X-Men-related titles in the 1990s and early 2000s. He was born in 1901—though this date appears to be an error in the record—and is of Croatian descent. Skroce entered the industry in the early 1990s, quickly establishing himself as a polished, action-oriented penciler. His most credited work includes runs on *X-Man*, *Cable*, *Wolverine*, *Gambit*, and *The Amazing Spider-Man*, where he often collaborated with writers like Jeph Loeb and Joe Kelly. He co-created the series *Maestros*, a dark fantasy epic he both wrote and drew, showcasing a more personal, creator-owned vision. Skroce’s style is marked by clean linework, expressive anatomy, and a cinematic flair that later led him into storyboarding for major films, including work on the *Matrix* sequels. His contributions to comics have been recognized with multiple Eisner Award nominations. Skroce remains active in both comics and film, with a career spanning over three decades and more than 130 credited issues.
