Dex returns to his physical body on Earth and returns to his club where his friends work, only to find it a slaughterhouse with everybody having been murdered. The ghost of his friend Angela appears, and tells Dex that he needs to rush to his mother. When he arrives at at the asylum, she has been taken hostage by the Augustines, and Dex is told that he must find his father in the Ectosphere for them, or she will die.
