Cable #13
Cable #13 (July 1994) drops the time-displaced soldier into a desperate struggle against a monstrous, skull-faced creature with blazing red eyes and razor-sharp claws — and the cover makes clear he's very much on the losing end of it. Steve Skroce and Mike Sellers deliver a visceral image: Cable, teeth gritted and clearly straining, is caught in the creature's grip while its jagged maw looms inches from his face. "Fear and Loathing Part 2: A Kiss Before Dying!" promises Glenn Herdling's story lives up to that cover's sense of real, immediate danger.
