Maestros #6

Steve Skroce's Maestros has been one of Image's most wildly inventive fantasy series, and issue #6 keeps that energy burning — literally. The cover, colored with fierce intensity by Dave Stewart, depicts a pair of gnarled hands cracking open a dark, cracked grimoire, from which an enormous flaming skull erupts in a burst of golden light and smoldering red energy. It's the kind of image that makes you want to find out exactly what terrible knowledge lives inside that book.
