Sean McKeever
Sean Kelley McKeever was born in 1972 in Appleton, Wisconsin, and grew up in Eagle River. He built his reputation primarily as a comic book writer, with a body of work spanning both major publishers and creator-owned projects across a career active from the late 1990s through at least 2021.
McKeever is perhaps best recognized for two distinct creative registers. On the creator-owned side, he developed The Waiting Place and, later, Outpost Zero, demonstrating a consistent interest in character-driven, smaller-scale storytelling. Within mainstream superhero comics, he found a particularly strong following with Sentinel and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane for Marvel — titles that approached familiar genre material with a lighter, more emotionally grounded touch well suited to younger readers. His run on Teen Titans for DC Comics further cemented his standing as a writer attuned to adolescent characters and the dynamics of ensemble casts. Over the course of more than 220 credited issues, he also contributed to titles including Mystique and Inhumans for Marvel.
Beyond comics, McKeever expanded into video game writing, contributing to BioWare's massively multiplayer Star Wars: The Old Republic and FoxNext Games' Storyscape: The X-Files, reflecting a broader interest in collaborative, interactive storytelling. No major awards are noted in the available record.
