DC editorial used the milestone issue number as a deliberate occasion to bridge outgoing and incoming regimes: Geoff Johns, who had written the series since its September 2003 relaunch, contributed a closing segment alongside series-launch artist Mike McKone, while Sean McKeever and penciler Randy Green were officially introduced as the new regular team. The issue's most talked-about editorial flourish was engineering a reunion between Marv Wolfman and George Pérez — the architects of the 1980s New Teen Titans — for their first collaborative Titans story in years, giving the anniversary book an explicit thread connecting modern continuity to the Bronze Age foundation. The book was edited by Eddie Berganza with Adam Schlagman as associate editor, and carried a 48-page count to accommodate its multi-story format.
