Mystique #14
Mystique #14 kicks off the five-part "Unnatural" arc with a cover by Mike Mayhew that makes an immediate impression — Raven Darkhölme crouches low in black tactical gear, red hair swept back, yellow eyes sharp with cold focus, a submachine gun held ready in her gloved hand. The industrial stairwell setting reinforces that she's deep in some dangerous operation, every line of her body coiled and alert. Sean McKeever and artist Manuel García take the reins of Marvel's shapeshifting antihero here, and if Mayhew's striking painted cover is any indication, this arc isn't pulling its punches.
