Inhumans #7
Issue seven of Marvel's 2004 Inhumans run opens with a cover that feels more like a woodblock print than a superhero splash — a solitary, tattooed Inhuman figure strides forward from a deep navy background, enveloped by sweeping gold arabesques that evoke both royal pageantry and something quietly ominous. The two-tone design by cover penciler Adrian Alphona and inker Craig Yeung is strikingly elegant, letting the decorative flourishes do the dramatic heavy lifting. With Sean McKeever writing and Robert Teranishi on interior art, "Surface" promises a thoughtful, stylish chapter in Attilan's ongoing story.
