Incredible Hulk #36 (2002)
Kaare Kyle Andrews is a Canadian comic book writer, artist, and filmmaker born in 1967 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, whose versatility across both mainstream superhero titles and creator-owned projects has made him one of the more distinctive voices to emerge from Canadian comics. His work spans a wide tonal and visual range, shifting fluidly between hyper-realistic rendering and a looser, more cartoonesque approach depending on the demands of a given story.
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1 (2011)
Andrews broke into comics in the late 1990s and built his reputation largely through Marvel work, contributing as artist, writer, colorist, inker, and letterer across more than 150 issues between 1999 and the mid-2020s. His most prominent credits include *Spider-Man: Reign*, *Spider-Man / Doctor Octopus: Year One*, *Spider-Man & Wolverine*, *Amazing Fantasy*, *Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis*, and an extended run on *Wolverine*. His early work on Spider-Man: Doctor Octopus earned him the inaugural Shuster Award for Outstanding Artist, a recognition that speaks to the craft and ambition of that project.
Intrigue #1 (1999)
Beyond superheroes, Andrews created *Renato Jones*, a creator-owned series that demonstrated his appetite for more pointed, original storytelling. He has also pursued filmmaking alongside his comics career; his film *Sniper: Assassin's End* reached the top of the iTunes charts in September 2020.
