Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis #2
In "Xenogenesis Part Two," the Astonishing X-Men confront a chilling mystery in the remote African village of Karere, where mutant children with disturbing mutations have been reported. As Beast investigates the bizarre births and high radiation levels, the arrival of the country’s cybernetic dictator escalates the tension—declaring the children not mutants, but Warpies, and ordering their extermination. Warren Ellis crafts a tense, morally complex thriller, with Kaare Andrews’ striking art and Frank D’Armata’s vivid colors bringing the story’s eerie atmosphere to life, all under a cover by Andrews that captures the story’s unsettling tone.
