Darryl Banks is an American comic book artist best known for his long run on *Green Lantern* during the 1990s, where he helped define the look of Kyle Rayner, the series’ new lead. Born in the United States, Banks entered the industry in the late 1980s, first making an impression with work on one of the earliest fully painted comic books, *Cyberpunk*. He soon partnered with writer Mark Ellis to revitalize *The Justice Machine*, a long-running independent title, for both Innovation and Millennium Comics. Banks’s style is clean and dynamic, with a strong sense of anatomy and composition that suited both superhero action and science-fiction settings. Beyond *Green Lantern*, his credits include *Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze*, *JLA*, and the Milestone Universe series *Shadow Cabinet*. He has worked as an artist, colorist, inker, and writer across more than 100 issues, with a career spanning from 1989 into the 2020s. While major industry awards are not widely recorded for him, his contributions to DC’s cosmic and street-level stories remain a touchstone for fans of that era.
