“...Bad Dreams”

In the neon-drenched streets of 1989’s Cyberpunk #1, titled "...Bad Dreams," Topo’s fragile reunion with Juno is shattered when Quondam Mechanics operatives snatch her from his side. Desperate to find her, he turns to the enigmatic Alma Matrix for a custom data "ice" that might crack Quondam’s impenetrable digital fortress—only to be ensnared in a virtual trap deeper than he anticipated. Written by Scott Rockwell and Kevin Van Hook, with bold, immersive art by Darryl Banks and striking cover by Ken Steacy, this issue delivers a tense, high-stakes plunge into a world where the line between real and digital blurs.

A reunion with Juno is ruined when goons from Quondam Mechanics abduct her from Topo's bed. Topo then sees Alma Matrix to get a piece of custom "ice" in order to break into Quondam's computers and learn the wereabouts of Juno. Quondam's network security is tougher than expected though and Topo is "virtually" captured.
